We went for a beautiful drive today through Palomar Mountain so we could visit the Observatory there. It's about an hour away from our home, and well worth the trip. We've been going on so many "field trips" lately, we decided we would take Charlie along with us. He doesn't really love being in the car, but he was a really good sport today. This first picture was taken on the drive up the mountain, it was a beautiful, warm day.
The observatory was built in 1939. We decided to go on the tour, which we usually never do, and we're really glad we did. The guides were very smart, and we learned a lot.
