30th Birthday Road Trip

Since all of the fellas are turning 30-years old this year, we decided to celebrate in style. A group of friends drove down from Salt Lake to Newport Beach. I got the day off and drove up from San Diego and met them at the beach for the day. It was great seeing them again, they're pretty funny when we all get together. Here are a couple pics of our day at the beach. Pictured below are Adam, John, Ryan, Andu, and Wittwer.

Tarantula Terror

While my brother was packing up his car to leave yesterday I was playing with the kids and trying to keep them from running into the busy street. While we were playing I happened to look up the street and saw, to my horror, a giant black tarantula come out of the bushes and slowly walk across the sidewalk. I cannot begin to tell you how afraid of "normal" spiders I am, so to see a huge tarantula walking by just about gave me a heart attack. Of course I yell to Mark and what does he say? "Oh cool, hey Trev come look at the spider." Not quite the reaction I was looking for in an older brother. I had my camera with me and Mark took a picture so that I could prove to Tyler that it really was a tarantula and not just my over imagination. I've debated about posting it, and finally decided that I wouldn't, just in case anyone else is as scared of the Hell Mascot as much as I am. So if you'd live to see a picture of the hideous creature I will e-mail you one.
After Mark left, I ran inside and googled "tarantula and San Diego", and come to find out they are pretty common here. The website actually had the nerve to call them "docile", yeah right. When Tyler finally got home from work I told him all about the harry little creature and showed him pictures. He tried to convince me that it was probably just a lost pet and that they really aren't very common. I found it pretty funny then, when we are on our nightly walk that we happened by a couple teenage boys who had just encountered a different tarantula less then 1/2 mile from our house. So, although I appreciate his attempt to calm his troubled wife, I still have a hard time sleeping and have a new fear of tarantula's in my house (and because of Mark, tarantulas in my car, he kept insisting that they love to crawl up under cars...thanks Mark!).
I admit, I feel a little better knowing that the creatures are not poisonous, and usually only come out in the evenings. I have "spider-proofed" my house as best I can, and pray that if one wondered into my home Charlie would take care of it. Just another reason why I love Charlie so much.

Summer Days

My brother Mark and his family came for a visit this weekend. It was so fun having Mark, Nicole, Trevor and Brooke here, and seeing Charlie and Trevor bond. They had so much fun together, I'm so mad I didn't get a picture of them together! Trevor last night kept whispering to Charlie "You're my best pal!". It was so cute. They arrived Saturday afternoon and we headed right to the beach. We decided to give Coronado Beach a try, hoping that it would be a little less crowded...yeah right, any beach you go to on a Saturday is going to be crowded.
Today we went to Sea World. Although I've probably been 7-8 times since I've moved to San Diego, I still love it. It is even funner when you have little kids with you, they get so excited to see all the animals. I love this picture of Trevor, even though he could see through the glass it just wasn't good enough, so he pulled himself higher so he could get a better view. Brooklynn is such a doll, she loves smiling for the camera!
They finally opened the Sesame Street Playground. It is an amazing place for little kids, and they have three fun rides as well. They are well worth the wait and the kids loved them. The first one we went on was a "tea-cup" ride, Trevor had a lot of fun turning the wheel to make us go fast. We were able to see almost every show, the kids really loved the one with all the puppies. It made me realize I need to step up Charlie's training, his tricks aren't near as impressive.

I love Shamu! These animals are just amazing, I love this picture of Shamu jumping out of the water and squiring water from his mouth. I love watching everyone do the "Sham-Slam" and the reaction of people as they are getting soaked. It's just a good time! What a wonderful weekend! Thanks for visiting, and it was worth the sunburn I got at Sea World to see you all again!

Welcome Home

Since we've gotten Charlie I hadn't spent one night away from him. So it was hard leaving him for five nights while I went home to Utah. From what Tyler says he had a hard time with me being gone, he was acting anxious and not eating very well. It was very sad for me to hear this. Luckily, when Ty wasn't working he was able to spend a lot of time with Charlie, which they both loved. So, last night I was so excited to get home to see him (and Ty). Ty came in first and then I came in a little later. When he first saw me he completely stopped what he was doing, the look on his face was priceless. As soon as he realized I was actually there he became so excited. He came running for me and his whole body was just shaking. He couldn't sit still and was licking and climbing all over me. I have never seen him so happy! We have a fun night together and he seems to be back to his old self. I love him so much!

His eyes look a little funny here, I promise he isnt a psycho puppy! =0

10-Year High School Reunion

I can't believe it has been 10 years since I graduated from high school. Wow, does time fly. I have to admit, I feel like I am a totally different person from when I was in high school, so it was a little odd going to my reunion. I did have a lot of fun though, and it was so nice seeing so many old friends. It was also fun seeing how they have changed over the years. I think almost everyone there has at least 3 kids, its crazy! There was an amazing turnout and the located was fun; even if it was very hot! I was dumb and only ended up taking two pictures while I was there. Luckily they had a photographer there and they will be selling the CD of pictures. Once I get that I will have to post some more.

Below is a picture of my good friends Shanna, Jenn, Kathy and Me. We all grew up in the same neighborhood. It was amazing seeing them again. I don't know how we lost touch over the years but that won't happen again.
Angela is the best! Although we didn't know each other well in high school we became super close after. She was actually a year younger than me in school but was nice enough to come with me to the reunion. She is the best!

Lunch & Shopping

What could be better than going to lunch with family and then shopping? It was so fun spending time with my in-laws while I was in town. We went to Cafe Rio for lunch (they don't have those in Cali so I really enjoyed that). And then we went to the huge Layers sale in Murray. I was able to get a ton of new clothes for an amazing deal.

I love my cute little nieces, Mackenzie, Eliza and Ivy. I wish I could see them more. They are always so happy to see me and make me feel loved. I love the time I am able to spend with them. They have very unique personalities and it's fun getting to know them better.
