Cape Zampa

For our Friday night field trip we went to Cape Zampa. Which is a really cool lighthouse with amazing cliffs. The waves were pretty calm that night, but I hear they can get pretty crazy on the cliffs. It was really pretty. There is also a fun ice cream bus, which Ty was really excited about.

Josh's First Birthday

On June 16, 2010 our prayers for starting a family were finally answered. After several long years of trying we were finally blessed with a beautiful little boy. Josh has been an amazing addition to our family. He is the happiest little baby, very quick to smile and has a huge love for life. Some of his favorite things: peanut butter sandwhiches, our puppy Charlie, singing songs, his grandparents, he adores Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, he loves his little twins, and of course mom and dad. I am so grateful to have Josh in my life, he makes me a better person and has a way of making everyone fall in love with him. The people of Japan love Joshy, they all want to meet him, take his picture and play with him. He really is a joy and this past year has been the best of our lives!

Shuri Castle

Yesterday was a lot of fun. We were able to go see an old Japanese palace and summer home for the past King. It was extremly hot and humid, but we powered through and it was totally worth it. The kids all did great, we kept them out of the sun as much as possible, but they were still worn out by time we got home. The castle is amazing, the colors are so bright and beautiful. The thron room is really grandiose. We also had a chance to finally have a traditional Japanese meal. For me it was just okay, I know there are other things I would like to try, but our lunch was a little too different for me. I was excited to use chop-sticks though, and I have to say I caught on quicker than I thought I would. Anyway, enjoy the picutres!

We were stopped so many times by the Japanese people, they get a kick out of the fact that we have THREE babies. Some even took pictures of the kids. We're kind of a circus wherever we go!

Shikina House

The Shikina House or Royal Gardens was used as the king's family summer home and also used as a guest house when they received delegates from other countries. It is very beautiful. While we were touring the house there was actually a wedding going on. It was fun to see them all dressed up in their formal Japanese attire. I wish I could have taken some pictures, but I doubt they would have appreciated it. Anyway, it really was an amazing place.
